To those of you who thought that the Rumpus Beautiful People issue didn’t have any real news in it, you were all wrong, because we’ve got news for you: Michal Towber is going to be a superstar. Born in Israel and raised in Manhattan, Michal (as in “me call” her hot) is a sophomore in Calhoun College, but she’s already 22 years old. You see, while most of her contemporaries were off in school, Michal was taking three years off from college in order to pursue a career in the music industry. In that time, Miki, as her friends call her, accomplished what most young stars only dream about. She opened for Soul Asylum, released her debut album, Sky With Stars, and received an Emmy nomination for a song she composed for the hit TV show One Life to Live. In the end, however, this international beauty decided
that she wanted to take a break from the constant action of the entertainment industry to return to school. “The music industry was very different than I thought it was going to be,” said Miki, who has decided that she is much happier right now being with her friends. Different or not though, she hasn’t given up on her passion yet,
and has already recorded a second album, [Coma], duefor release next year.Rumpus was granted a specialsneak peek at… uh, the album,with the song “Alone,” written and composedentirely by Ms. Towber. Just hearing the sound of that beautiful voice wouldsurely make anyone want to be “Alone” for a little while. Oh, and by the way, just in case youthought that Michal Towber didn’t haveenough talent to go around, you should know that she’s also pursuing a future in acting. That’s right, if listening to the beautiful voice of this young woman weren’t enough, now you can look deep into her “eyes” as she performs on stage. “[Acting] gives me the same feeling now that I used to get from making my music,” Miki confessed sexily. So with so much to be intimidated by, how can us non-beautiful people ever hope to one day find a beautiful person like Michal Towber for ourselves? This is, sadly, the most rhetorical of all rhetorical questions. But here’s what she said: “I really think it’s important that guys get out there and pursue girls. We like to be approached.” But before you even think of approaching, you should probably know that Michal is currently very happy with her boyfriend, a Yale alum and Los Angeles filmmaker. Still, if that doesn’t work out, you can bet that you’ll know about it, because we at Rumpus are certain that, with her intelligence, dramatic talent, and beautiful singing voice, this triple-threat beauty is going to be in all the tabloids one day.
