Emmy-winner Michal Towber is a singer/songwriter/musician, born in Ashkelon, Israel, and raised in NYC. She is a classically trained pianist and self-taught guitarist who graduated from Yale University and Columbia Law School.

She released Sky With Stars (2000), an album distributed by Columbia/SONY and co-produced by Michal Towber and Soul Asylum front man, Dave Pirner. In support of Sky with Stars, Michal performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and opened for Soul Asylum and Patti Rothberg. The track “My Friend” was featured on Delia’s In Your Head sampler and played in movie theaters nationwide, and “Broken Boy” appeared on Dawson’s Creek.

Her sophomore effort, Coma (2002), was distributed by RPM records and produced by Joe Simon, keyboardist of Billy Idol and Fiona Apple. This CD was a CDBaby.com editor’s pick, and many tracks appeared on ABC’s Daytime Television Drama One Life to Live. Robin Finck, of Nine Inch Nails and Guns N' Roses, lent his guitar skills to the track “Alive.” “Life without Me” was featured in the HBO movie Kiss the Bride.

In 2005 Michal released Desireless on Shorebreak records. “Perfect” was featured in the HBO movie Jack and Jill vs. the World and the Lifetime Movie True Confessions of a Go Go Girl. “Lovesick” appeared in the film Dark Rising. “Happy Feeling” was included in a Take Five/Diet Coke Podcast, the movie Duck Farm No. 13, and the Lifetime Movie Matters of Life and Dating. The track “Desireless” was featured on MPress Records New Arrivals Vol 1: Artists for Hurricane Relief sampler, benefiting victims of Hurricane Katrina. Michal was the face of Urban Decay’s make-up palette “Face Case,” and “Big Bang” Lip Gloss was named after her. Michal also won an Emmy for her work on One Life to Live.

In 2008 Michal collaborated with producer/songwriter Dave Liang of the Shanghai Restoration Project on “Pace of Light” on the Album Stories of a City. In 2009 they collaborated on “ToyLand” on the album Undercover Christmas, Vol 1.

In 2009, Michal’s version of the NY1 theme song was profiled in a half-hour television special.
Currently, Michal is topping the charts on the new internet singing competition, Popstation.
